Meanwhile in Contract News...

Barbara Byrd-Bennett makes a cushy deal with the feds.  No surprise there. Well, she did say she was sorry, so I guess all is well now in the land of kool-aid.  The prosecution had 20 counts against her, each of which held a maximum of 20 years in prison, but the Chicago way wins again...BBB had to only plead guilty to one charge and could spend up to 7.5 years in jail.  I'm sure 9.5 already worked it out that she doesn't spend one minute behind bars.  The first thing that should have happened is that BBB had to pay back that $23 million dollars.  But, I forgot, she apologized.

In the meantime, here is the latest offer from Chicago Public Schools for the teachers' contract.

Is there a strike around the corner?
